Feed-in Tariff (Clean Energy Cashback) scheme

Tariff levels, for technologies installed between 15th July 2009 and 31st March 2012 of most significance to householders...

Technology Scale Tariff level (p/kWh) Tariff lifetime (years)
Solar electricity (PV) 4 kW (retro fit) 41.3 25
Solar electricity (PV) 4 kW (new build) 36.1 25

Tariff levels do vary depending on the scale of the installation. Tariff levels shown in the above table apply to installations completed from 15th July 2009 to 31st March 2012 for the lifetime of the tariff. After this date, the rates decrease each year for new entrants into the scheme, in line with the retail price index. All generation and export tariffs will be linked to the Retail Price Index (RPI) which ensures that each year they follow the rate of inflation.

Why use solar pv?

There is a pressing concern for energy as the world's population continues to grow. How much raw energy do we have left and how we can generate new renewable energy in the future.

A tried and tested way in which we can create new power is thorough solar Photovoltaic's (PV). Solar PV has been around for several years and has successfully managed to increase its output each year.

Solar PV is two fold, not only does it cost less than real electricity, it also helps to preserve the environment as you are not using up the world's resources. Starting costs to setup your house with solar PV panelscan be expensive, but long term it will save you a fortune.

Should I install solar pv power now or wait for technological to improve?

There is a debate going on whether or not it is ethical to purchase solar PV systems or should you wait for further technological improvements.

The world is not slowing down its excavation of the planet's resources. Even though we are well aware that raw materials such as oil are finite, we continue to drill it and continue to distribute it at record levels.

A technological revolution will not happen until it is too late to stop the inevitable, therefore you should install solar PV system as fast as you can afford it. Setup costs are expensive, but it will save you thousands of pounds over the course of its life.

Solar PV systems are actually pretty easy to install. The drilling of oil will not end until it is too late, that is why installing a solar PV system now makes sense. There will come a day when we will all need fresh renewable energy. When that day comes, prices will go up and supply will decrease.

What are Solar PV system costs

Installing a solar PV system makes sense. First ignore the cost and focus on the two huge benefits.

  1. Because you are using a solar PV system, you are saving precious world resources.
  2. You are saving yourself much needed money in energy costs.

Depending on your location, electricity prices can fluctuate. The cost of your solar PV system never goes up or down, it is dependent on how much sun you get. If there is a dull day when you don't receive a lot of sun, the battery in your PV system will have enough energy stored to get you by.

Don't measure the costs of a solar PV system in money, measure it in life terms. Our planet resources are finite, but many people are oblivious to this fact.

Make the sensible choice have a solar PV system fitted. It will cost you upfront now, but save you money and the planet in the future.

Will solar pv produce enough electricity for my needs?

Does Solar PV produce enough electricity? The whole reason someone would want a solar PV system is to save money take some of the strain off of the environment. Solar PV systems are run off of the energy of the sun, if there is little sunlight, solar PV systems can still work.

PV systems come equipped with a battery backup that can store energy in case there is not enough sun, this way you can still have power in the night and on low sun days. Does a solar PV system give you the unlimited power capabilities of regular power? The answer is no, but yes you can power your home with energy to spare..

Solar power is a new way that we can preserve our planet and preserve future generations.

Just how economical is a solar pv system?

In today's economy people are eager to save a few extra pounds. Some people cut back on entertainment, while others find ways to lower their bills.

Another way in you can save yourself some money now and in the future is by installing a solar PV system. How economical is a solar PV system?

PV systems are going make savings on your monthly bills. In relation to how much you are saving our planet, the cost effectiveness is through the roof.

You will be glad you have a solar PV system when energy prices skyrocket upwards as time goes on.

Will I need planning permission to install solar pv systems?

Depending on your location in the UK, you may need to ask for consent from the land owner if you do not own the land.

A private is allowed to install one on their land and immediately reap the savings. PV do not require special permits.

Not only will you be saving money with a PV system, but you will also be saving the planet's natural resources, and that is far greater than any currency.

How long do solar pv systems last?

In most cases PV systems will outlive you. Their life span all depends on how well you take care of them, there is very little to worry about because all the panels do is collect energy and disperse it. Mechanical components in the system that will eventually need changing, but that all depends on the quality of the system you bought.

You cannot predict an accurate date for anything, but the great thing about a solar PV system is that if it does break down, they are really easy to fix.

How is electricity obtained from the sun?

The new way of getting electricity is from the sun itself and this is very possible with new advances in solar PV systems. These new systems are very capable of running houses and businesses as long as they have the proper light and setup.

PV systems are also equipped with batteries in case there is not enough sun. These batteries also serve as the light source in the evenings when the sun is not in the sky.

Getting power from the sun is very easy, remember when you were a kid and you placed a magnifier in the sun and created small fires? Solar PV systems work on the same concept, harnessing the Sun's natural power to create energy. The sun has more power than we could ever use, and by harnessing that power, we will have an infinite renewable source of energy.

Are grants available to install a Solar PV system?

Originally the UK government were offering grants to help people with the initial cost of getting solar panels. Now instead the government are offering a feed-in-tariff, this means you are paid back your investment over a period of time. For every kilo-watt of energy your solar panels produce you are paid back a certain amount of pence. This tariff will last for 25 years from the date of installment.

Solar PV systems are initially not cheap, but are probably the best investment you will ever make. Being able to rely on the Sun which is an infinite source of renewable energy instead of an unstable electricity grid is well worth it.

Do your research ahead of time and find out more about the feed in tariff offered by the UK government. If you do it right, you may be suprised to learn that a solar PV system is a lot cheaper than you think.

What is the best Solar PVsystem to use?

In order to find the right supplier, you need to know how often you plan on using your PV system. Will you use it solely or will you also use a little bit of electricity?

An important question because some PV systems are meant to run a few hours a day whereas others are meant to run at all times.

The best solar PV system to use is the one that fits your needs. You do not want to purchase something that is meant to run at all times when you only run it a few hours a day and vice versa.

Solar pv set up uk

UK residents can now receive substantial tax reductions if they invest in alternative sources of energy. Windmills or wind turbines are probably a little more efficient but they will not work out if you do not reside in a blustery region of the country. So, Solar PV setup UK is probably your most reliable choice.

Most families that are interested in "going green", think having solar panels professionally installed is the safest and best option. A solar system needs to be installed by a qualified electrician with the experience in successfully fitting solar panels to roof tops.

Solar Pan el Installation are fully qualified solar panel installers with many years experience in fitting solar panels successfully and safely. You will get an exceptional installation service at an affordable price.

How effective are solar PV systems in this country (UK)?

PV systems are very effective when compared to other forms of power. All they need is the sun in order to operate, as long as there is sun you will have power. PV systems also have battery backups in case there are long periods with no sun.

PV systems save you money and also save the planet's precious resources. The more gas and resources we can save now, the longer it will give us to come up with alternative forms of energy for the future. Do your part by purchasing and installing a PV system.
