first incentive scheme for renewable energy.
With Feed-In Tariffs (FIT), you are rewarded for
generating your own electricity.

Feed-in Tariffs (FITs) became available in the UK on 1st April 2010. Under this scheme energy suppliers make regular payments to householders and communities who generate their own electricity from renewable or low carbon sources such as solar electricity (PV) panels or wind turbines.
The Clean Energy Cashback scheme guarantees a minimum payment for all electricity generated, as well as a separate payment for the electricity exported to grid. These payments are in addition to the bill savings made by using your own generated electricity.
Once you have a microgeneration technology installed you will not only experience a monthly reduction in your electricity bill, you will also receive an income from your Feed-in tariff (clean energy cash back) provider.
If you think a PV Solar system is out of your price range, loans are available. If you take out a loan to pay for the installation, Feed-in tariffs have been designed so that the average monthly income from your installation will be significantly greater than your monthly loan repayment (with a 25 year loan).
Solar power pays for itself over a few years.
The average home in the UK, with a 2.5kWp (21M2) system can earn around £900 a year generating and exporting its own solar electricity.
Energy bills can also be reduced by around £130.

Solar PV stands for 'solar photovoltaic'. Solar PV panels harness sunlight and the sun's radiation and turn it into solar electricity.
A solar PV system is made up of panels consisting of thin layers of silicon that converts sun radiation or light into DC electricity.
